Breast cancer and breast cancer survivors get a lot of attention (as they should!), but there is another group of breast cancer survivors whose needs are often ignored. These are the daughters of women with breast cancer. These daughters watch their mothers undergo frightening treatments, and worry whether or not they will survive. Some daughters watch their mothers fight the disease unsuccessfully, and witness mother's death. There is little support available for these daughters, and little is understood about their experiences and needs. I am a professor of social work, and did a study on daughthers whose mothers had breast cancer. This web page, along with a book I wrote about my study, are designed to help these daughters - the other breast cancer survivors. Please explore it freely, and let me know about your experience, or how I can make this web page more useful. Thanks!
